Analyzing the Role of Agricultural Cooperatives in Improving Small-scale Farmers’ Access to Markets and Reducing Poverty. MSC

Abstract:
This research study aims to analyze the role of agricultural cooperatives in improving small-scale farmers’ access to markets and reducing poverty. Small-scale farmers often face challenges in accessing markets due to limited resources, lack of bargaining power, and inadequate infrastructure. Agricultural cooperatives have emerged as a potential solution to address these challenges by providing collective marketing, input procurement, and value chain integration services. This study will examine the functioning and impact of agricultural cooperatives in enhancing market access for small-scale farmers. It will analyze the economic, social, and institutional factors that influence the effectiveness of cooperatives in reducing poverty and improving farmers’ livelihoods. Additionally, the research will explore the role of cooperatives in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and empowering marginalized farming communities. By analyzing the role of agricultural cooperatives, this study aims to provide insights for policymakers, development practitioners, and farmers’ organizations in promoting inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
