Analyzing the effectiveness of green infrastructure in mitigating urban heat island effects. MSC

Abstract:
This research project aims to analyze the effectiveness of green infrastructure in mitigating urban heat island effects. Urban heat islands refer to the phenomenon where urban areas experience higher temperatures compared to surrounding rural areas due to human activities and the built environment. Green infrastructure, such as parks, green roofs, and urban forests, has been proposed as a potential solution to reduce the heat island effect and improve urban livability. This study will examine the implementation and impact of green infrastructure strategies in selected cities, assessing their effectiveness in mitigating heat island effects and enhancing urban climate resilience. The findings will contribute to the understanding of the role of green infrastructure in urban planning and provide insights for policymakers and urban planners in developing sustainable and climate-resilient cities.
