The Influence of Social Media on Political Participation: A Case Study of Young Adults in Nigeria
The study investigated the influence of social media on political participation among young adults in Nigeria. The research sought to understand how social media usage affects the political engagement of young adults in the country and identify the factors that influence their participation in political activities. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a survey of 300 young adults aged 18-35 and in-depth interviews with 20 participants.

Recommendations for future research include exploring the impact of fake news and disinformation on political engagement and examining the role of social media influencers in shaping young adults’ political beliefs and behaviors.
